Alejandra Palacios
I chose the brush as the way of expressing my sensations for life. It allows me to combine colors and feelings to create artwork with a sense of realism, and a peek into my own individual perspective. My point of view presents life in a completely different way. I deconstruct the world I see into geometric shapes, give them color and create a feeling of motion. This geometric pattern makes my style unique. Different layers of colors and lines express the context and meaning of my composition. My work is inspired by master painters such as Pablo Picasso and Romero Britto. I combine elements of cubism, pop art, and graffiti, using vibrant colors as a visual expression and in an effort to evoke thought and emotion with the viewer and audience. The central figure in my work interacts with the background, and they both come to life, using perspective and layers to explain the context and meaning of the work, and giving each creation
an expression of hope, dreams, and happiness. My studies in Architecture, Art History, 3D Computer Drafting, and Animation Art and Design, have influenced and inspired me to explore new ways to create my own unique compositions.
